My Last Blog Post…?

This is my last blog post for the CLA Ag Blog since I am retiring effective December 31, 2022 (and headed to Hawaii on Wednesday to spend time with my family)

The Farmcpatoday.com blog started early in 2009. I remember spending time looking at various professional blogs and noticed that there was no blog that focused on farming and agriculture. I thought I could certainly try to do a blog on this subject.

My goal was to get 100 people to read the blog. I think the first month of the blog I had well over 100 readers and by the end of 2009, the blog was attracting several thousand readers each month.

As the blog matured, several ag related media companies reached out to me including Top Producer where I continue to do a column for them. I also post our most of our blog entries to Agweb.com. A recent blog post on Agweb.com reviewing a Tax Court case on a farming using old tractors on their farm attracted over 70,000 views in a very short period.

The reason for my title in this post is that I am retiring from CLA effective December 31, 2022. However, I will continue to speak, write, and do other thought leadership including posting to Agweb.com on a fairly consistent basis.

This blog will be in good hands with Kelly Hardy and Mohit Nayyar taking charge. I look forward to my next phase of work life. I want to thank everyone who reached out to me over the last 14 years and look forward to meeting even more professional friends in the future.
