My husband and I are 'Puppy Raisers' for Service Peace Warriors. We currently have SPW Nordic, a 1 year old bernedoodle.
Service Peace Warriors is a non-profit organization helping any honorably discharged American soldier cope with service-related PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) symptoms, MST, and other disabilities.
Service Peace Warriors train certified Service Dogs in Washington State for service-related PTSD therapy, then give them to assist veterans, free of charge, for life. These companions allow veterans with PTSD, MST, and other disabilities to live everyday lives that would otherwise be impossible. Everything from medical expenses, training, outfitting, and feeding is provided by us, accessible to the veteran.
