Overview
Will has significant depth in the areas of commercial and real estate lending. Additionally, his expertise extends to comprehensive understanding of government guaranteed lending programs, particularly with the Small Business Administration. In his consulting role, Will utilizes the knowledge and experience gained over the years to help a variety of financial institutions in assessing risk and posturing for the future.
After beginning his career in community banks in commercial credit, Will went on to work for two of the top 10 SBA lenders in the country. This experience allowed exposure to more extensive business processes as well as a national lending footprint. With knowledge gained from large scope business processes as well as the understanding of various regulations that come with operating at a national level, Will joined a bank in “De Novo” status. While here, Will helped build out marketing and sales processes, credit procedures, construction requirements, and closing guidelines all while helping the bank work towards a successful removal of “De Novo” status by the FDIC.
Will’s experience is a mix of sales, credit, and portfolio management roles within commercial financing. Having worked in both established and start-up institutions, Will has helped create and build new processes as well as helped review established policies and been instrumental in change. His exposure to different areas of institutions’ operations allows him unique perspectives to help understand the challenges institutions face in balancing these various parts of their business and help generate solutions that fit their needs.
