October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and CLA is supporting the efforts of the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to promote internet safety.
CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is proud to once again join the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a NCSA Month (NCSAM) Champion.
Our objective for joining this collaborative effort is to improve your security position by promoting internet safety.

Now in its 16th year, NCSAM continues to work toward the ultimate goal of providing all Americans with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online. CLA is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative which is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
“NCSA is proud to have such a strong and active community helping to encourage proactive behavior and prioritize cybersecurity in their organizations,” said Kelvin Coleman, executive director, NCSA.
“One of the top priorities for any organization is reducing risk, and cybersecurity is one of the greatest risks organizations face today,” says Mark Eich, a cybersecurity principal with CLA.
Throughout the month, we will be sharing best practices and security tips, and we invite you to join our complimentary cybersecurity webinars to learn more about defending against ransomware and how SOC 2 continues to evolve with cybersecurity threats. Some of the other topics CLA will be highlighting this month include:
- Guarding against ransomware attacks
- Identifying social engineering and phishing attacks
- Complying with cybersecurity regulations like GDPR
- Defending against IRS scams
- Protecting your personal and business networks
- Securing personal devices
- Detecting fraud
- Quantifying your cyber risk
